I think kids don't care, I'm over it. Not expecting thanks but come on is this how uninspired the new generation of skate kids are? Thanks to the dudes for coming over and skating with everyone saturday night, you men are of a dying breed.

brandon all the bowling is improving your skating.

......yes Russ. yes. and i'd like to point out...look at all the photos i just posted.....NO IPODS!!!!! no headphones!!!! yay!!!!!!!! we skated, and we talked, and talked to each other, and skated. just like the old days.

good call on the lack of headphones Jay... Nice photog Russ! I still can't believe the Brandon's back smith. I like how the spotlight blacks out the background and makes for a solo skate image -meanwhile, the session was packed... hopefully next week, the last week, will be just as good even though there will be no superheroes with spotlights. Good times, thanks guys!

Yeah using music while your skating is like putting in cheats in a tony hawks game...

....listening to music while you skate makes you skate better? what? I just think having headphones in while your skating with other people is anti-social. You try to talk to someone, and you have to wait for them to figure out you're talking to them, then they have to take their headphones out. They tend to disrupt flow at skateparks cause they can't hear anything that's going on around them. I think it makes skateboarding too damn serious. Skate, talk with your pals, laugh a bit, it's okay, let loose. Skateboarders are an awkward anti-social bunch by nature...but when everybody is wearing headphones, it just get weird. That's my schpeel..dig it.

Well Jay does have a good point, Maybe if we could have built in MSN terminals in our eyes then people would comunicate while skating, but alas no. The guys from the demo had mentioned how they thought it was weird that more than half the kids can't here whats going on around them, no conversations were sparked you know. I guess we are a dying breed, maybe next session has to be a headphone free event, kick em out if they are wearing headphones. On a good note it does show how skateboarding is a very individual thing and you don't need to talk to others at all, no team tactics are involved etc.

...what! no team tactics? Russ, I've got endless amounts of play books, defense and offensive skate moves. They come in quite handy....especially for the joust sessions late nights on the weekend. We could go over them sometime if you want...come over for a nice bath, and we'll go over some strategies.

thats a joke if you are actualy going to kick people out if they have headphones, whats the big deal, oh no you are listening to music while you skateboard, uh oh, end of the world

Anonymous said...

Of course it's a joke. We'd only kick you out if you were listening to that "catch me ridin'" song on your i pod...and slap you on the way out.

thats probably the steeziest back smiths i have ever seen.

So I hear that this Saturday is the last indoor session?
Thats sucks brah!
Oh well it was fun times while it lasted. I think someone should donate one of those rails to new park though..
Then we would have a rail to practise on down there, would be pretty sweet.
We could bust some tricks on it out of the banks.. or put it down some banks? Maybe down the five set? Hows about putting one on that manuel pad and gapping over to.. (insert trick here..)
Would be fun.

Uh no we were not being that serious, oh no, someone forgot about the last line of the paragraph oh no , hu no, oh no no, hu no, no huh, oh. I don't care if people wear headphones, whatever floats your boat it just seems very anti social and sometimes rude. You must see that? I think I should get kicked out of the next session, kick me out for everything I do and say wrong, at least i'll be able to hear you Jay.

...oh rigo, the skating is far from over...wink wink...i've got some new leads on a 16 foot wide four foot mini ramp...i will guide you on the journey..it does involve a ferry ride though....go to www.concreteskateboarding.com to view the secret ramp....i've got the invite to get us in there..believe it.

brandan always skates with headphones on, almost every single time hes at newpark.

and your point. Wow people feel really strongly about this, we dont care, well at least I dont. I just think Jay had a good point and was making lite of the situation by saying, "Ban headphones from next session". Was that honestly taken that serious, fuck. I'm more concerned with the prehistoric shark they just found off Japan.

..holy dramatics...CHi is right, we keep her entertained with our girly drama....the headphone bit is over, why are we still talking about it? I don't know. I don't care. I don't care who skates with headphones on, I just talk to the ones without headphones...simple as that. If you want to skate with plastic bits in your ears, power to ya. Baaaaaaaa, baaaaaaa.
